Hello, i play Battlefield 3 on Ps3. I have not been playing it for a while, but now i am playing for the end game DLC. So like a console gamer, i popped the game in to find myself at an update screen (version 1.09). So i said 'no biggie, i will just go do something else while i wait', little did i know the update is 2GBs (15min download). Came back to see it to the installing procedure. However, once it got to the 14% mark.the install comes to a complete halt and gave me an error, with an option to look at 'suggested actions'. I have never had a problem like this when installing an update, so this is all new to me. Can someone please help me, i have tried several different ways, nothing has worked so far, and i am still getting the exact same error. I bought the DLC and i can not even play it, because of this update that does absolutely nothing vital from what i heard.

At 14% it says 'An error occurred during the install operation. (80029564)'
I have a PS3 slim 320GB model
The update is 1.09 (2034MB)(2GB)
The game is obviously Battlefield 3.

Yeah i'm getting it as well.this happened before with an update for me about 6-8months ago.It eventually just worked. I find disabling your firewall and using a wired(ethernet) connection can improve chances. Also remember to delete the corrupt files from the failed download and install attempts.Anyway just keep trying and it eventually installs successfully.

Hey guys i solve the update problem to BF3 update 1.07 for PS3.
Many players couldn't update BF3, due in the middle of the download, shows a error mesenge (error 80710723) and the download fails. There's a way to update the game by PC, called Proxy Server, you'll download the update on PC than transfer to PS3, it's simple.
I know that many of you just gave up of the game because of this, but here's the sollution! Do the PS3 downloads and updates faster and 100% working!

I just downloaded the update successfully, and it did the usual install. Now, it's 'Installing game data.' I don't remember seeing this happen with any other update.
Update: Everything appears to work just fine.

Hello,
If you are having problems installing the latest patch please do the following:
1. Go to Game Data Utility
2. Scroll over Battlefield 3 and press ∆ (triangle)
3. Select delete and confirm (please note that this will delete all your BF3 content, including DLCs)
4. Insert the BF3 Disc
5. Download and install the 1.09 patch
